Loki’s Profile
STORY:Loki was called 'Ace' at the shelter because he truly assumes that not only is he the best, but everyone else thinks he is too. When we adopted him, the volunteer at the shelter said "oh, you are taking him too? He should be quite the interesting character to have around." We are glad that we ignored her very slightly ominous tone and adopted him along with Rothko, because he is endless entertainment. Plus, he is great at catching the occasional fly.
FAVORITE TEAS:Jasmine, Tieguanyin, any floral sheng pu'er, Jingshan Green
FAVORITE MUSIC:French waltzes, Debussy
MOST LIKELY TO SAY:Blaah!
CONNOISSEUR OF:Styrofoam, plastic bags, bag handles, attention
NICKNAMES:Crazy-Eyes, Troublemaker, No!
OBJECTS OF LOATHING:things that look like snakes, attention not directed at him, bergamot
PREFERRED FONTS:Zapf Dingbats, Comic Sans

Except for his loathing of bergamot, Loki sounds like a cat of excellent tastes.
Loki has very fine and very strong tastes. I respect that there is nothing wishy-washy about his personality. The bergamot is understandable though- cats have a much better sense of smell than we do. I imagine whiffing the stuff must be like getting punched in the face for a act.
I love how you listed, ‘No’ as a nickname, as it reminds me of a short story. Growing up, we used a water-gun to help ‘encourage’ our dog from getting into things she shouldn’t. Once a guest was over–one who didn’t know our dogs name–and when she, our dog, was doing something she wasn’t supposed to, my father said in a slow, menacing tone, drawing out the word, ‘W-A-T-E-R-G-U-N!” You may be able to guess what our guest though the name of our dog was, and what a laugh we got out of it. Pets can be so much fun to have around!
I also love that your cats have a profile, as cats are people too! : p
Absolutely. Great story about ‘water-gun.’ Loki is always the one who looks over, even if Rothko needs disciple, because he assumes that the firm tone of voice is simply another way of calling him.
And I thought I was the only one who loves both cats and tea!!
I only know one tea lover who dislikes cats, but that is a friend in China whose family cat was a giant nasty animal that would always scratch and hiss. Now she is afraid of cats, and thinks that the way they look you in the eye is scary. Of course, this leads to lots of cat v dog arguments when I am over there…
Loki is brave to prefer Comic Sans!
But since he loves attention I imagine that would help get him some.
Your Tea Cats are amazing! I hope they stick around forever.
Thanks Ash-Lee,
I am extraordinarily pleased that you noticed the font preferences. I never thought comic sans would make an appearance in any of my creative enterprises, but Loki demands it. He is brave indeed, living in a strongly serif-biased household as he does.
Thanks!
Loki sounds like an awesome, fun cat with a great taste in tea and music. I also love his one nickname…No!
These guys should have their own teas named after them.
