Rothko’s Profile
STORY:Rothko and Loki are twin brothers, from an abandoned litter of eight. All the other cats found homes as soon as the rescue shelter found them, but Rothko and Loki were left, and nobody wanted to adopt them together. When we saw the two of them at the shelter, all the other cats were asleep, but these boys both stood up on their hind legs and stuck their paws out of the cage. When we let them out, they started tearing all over the place, and took the opportunity to harass the caged dogs at the shelter. Despite their rambunctious characters, we had to take them home.
Rothko's name at the shelter was 'Cashew.' When we took him home, we hadn't decided on a name, so we started looking through our books. He was pretty uninterested in every book we pulled out until the art books came down. He came right over and looked into every image carefully. He was particularly interested in color fields and abstract work. When we turned to figurative paintings like Rubens, he turned away and sat on the page, but when we turned to Rothko, he looked into the paintings and tried to pick them up with his paws. The name Rothko stuck after a few days of test runs. He still spends hours just gazing at the paintings on our walls, sometimes to Loki's disappointment during playtime.

Hehehe, this is cute. I love it!
I suppose tea cats is better than tea dogs. Although I am rather more fond of dogs since they shed less, much less I seem to think. I would love to post the photos of my friend Paul Hovey in California of his two cats (Karma &Romona); that blog could be aptly name Karma and Ramona at play.
Cats are lovely; as assured by ladies like Agatha Christie. Those days are bygone and never to return.
Happy teas!
Yes, the first thing my sister said when I told her about tea cats is that I should do ‘Tea Dogs.’ We will see. For now, Rothko and Loki are loving the attention.
I didn’t name my cat who was feral when he moved in. Our other cat was missing so we left food out for him and Lazarus kept coming by to help himself. He would disappear and each time the neighbor told us he was dead. We would mourn his loss and he would reappear later. Once he officially moved in and we got him a nip/tuck we just kept calling him Lazzie short for Lazurus but he responds to Rishi as if it was his name as well..
I don’t like unpleasant textures, either.
Where have you guys been? We miss you!
That is one kitty with great taste to appreciate art and gongfu – and so blessed to sip tea instead of milk!
