Mei ZhanTea Varietal

Although Mei Zhan varietal is probably best know as a Wuyi oolong, this long leafed varietal original comes from Anxi. Master Zhang's mature plants grow side by side with Tieguanyin, Ben Shan and Rou Gui on terraces above Daping. Finished as a green, modern rolled oolong, this beautiful varietal opens up in a new way. The spring 2017 harvest is creamy and buttery with notes of ginseng and licorice that remind us of Lan Gui Ren or dim sum desserts. Notes of dried berry (like goji) play against this creaminess with a hint of dandelion florals in the sweet aftertaste.

This tea is pre-packed in individual 5g packets for sizes under 100g.

" Tea requires sky, earth, and people to come together as one... These flexible and organic things are hard to completely control. It takes a mutual agreement with the tea. You can't just demand it... "
