This tea is Mr. He's pride and joy, carefully crafted with hand-picked buds and oxidized in the sun over three days. The Spring 2016 harvest is particularly precious: with the particularly cold & harsh winter this year, the He Family lost about one third of their tea. Despite the low yield, the He family dedicated an early portion of the harvest to this labor intensive small bud black tea to show the world that the persevering spirit of Laoshan can stand up to China's most famous black teas.

" Laoshan is known all over China first as a Taoist holy site, and second as the source of some of the best water in the country. The water gained its fame when it was included as the master ingredient in the original Tsing Tao beer recipe.... "
