This fourteen year old cake from Da Du Gang is a pressing of leaf harvested from wild arbor tea trees without the use of chemicals (or human involvement or maintenance outside of picking). The result is a deep, complex tea that has taken on a smooth sweet flavor with age. Sticky rice and brown sugar give this much of the classic ideal aesthetic in shu pu’er, but with added fruity nuance and cooling undertones.

'Most pu’er does become more complex over time. Astringency mellows out, darker and richer flavors come through. Textural complexities become more pronounced. Starting with an intriguing young pu’er of high quality with lots of textures and flavors at play will increase your chances of graceful aging.'
