Bold, daring and sculptural, this incredible pot from award-winning Master Tang Xianwu has a powerful, almost monumental presence on the tea board.

Tang XIanwu uses a special reduction-firing technique to get deep dark drama out of her Yuan Kuang Qing Duan clay, an effect that is brought to the spotlight with the contrast of polished facets and masterfully-carved etching that brings out deep reds. The carving work is deep and full of energy, connecting Yixing pottery to stone-carving, while the facets hint at the mathematical precision and decades of craft that Tang Xianwu brings to bear. The rough-hewn qualities are balanced with an exquisitely faceted top, and a geometric perfectly-integrated handle and spout.

Tang Xian Wu has gained steady fame and accolades over the years, winning awards at every competition, so we are excited to still be able to offer her work due to a long working relationship.
