Varietal
Although Mei Zhan varietal is probably best know as a Wuyi oolong, this long leafed varietal original comes from Anxi. Master Zhang's mature plants grow side by side with Tieguanyin, Ben Shan and Rou Gui on terraces above Daping. This spring harvest is creamy and buttery with notes of ginseng and licorice that remind us of Lan Gui Ren or dim sum desserts. Notes of dried berry (like goji) play against this creaminess with a hint of dandelion florals in the sweet aftertaste.
