This tea is one of Mr. He's special projects, carefully crafted with hand-picked smaller buds and oxidized in the sun over three days. This year's harvests are special; the He Family's plants have spent a year recovering from the bitter cold of 2016 that killed so much of Laoshan's tea fields, and the teas are sweeter for it. The fall harvest has a toasted rice, cherry, and cocoa profile, with a much more mellow version of Laoshan Black's classic chocolate notes.
'Laoshan is known all over China first as a Taoist holy site, and second as the source of some of the best water in the country. The water gained its fame when it was included as the master ingredient in the original Tsing Tao beer recipe.'
