Incense
Created in collaboration with Xin Yue Workshop and crafted in Taiwan, this is aloeswood to pair with tea.
This incense is a mix of fine Qie Luo aloeswood and camphor fiber as a binding agent, with no unnatural scents or fillers added.
We asked our partners at Xin Yue workshop to put together a new series of fine, subtle, tea-appropriate aloeswood incense, and they came through for us, leveraging their connections in Taiwan for the high quality raw materials.
Even before the stick is lit, it is intensely cooling, with a light–on-its-feet sweet refreshing, cucumber soda quality and mouth-watering texture, with hints of cardamom, saffron and fennel. Once lit, this stick has a thick, enveloping powerful quality that is deeply honeyed with a hint of pineapple. It is very cooling and mineral-laden with a complexity and evocative character that feels like sitting in an evergreen forest.
Each paper canister includes about 30 sticks of this aloeswood. Each stick is about a 50 minute burn - perfect for lighting before tea time or enjoying during a relaxed tea session.
