This lovely pot from Yan Xiang is hand built with lao duan ni and hand carved with old seal script calligraphy and a delicate bird. The modern brush-stroke like carving stands in contrast to the primitive bold line of the calligraphy. The lid of the "Jing Yu" shaped pot is well fitted, and the graceful spout and handle are sculpted for a life time of use. The lovely clay will grow more lustrous with careful brewing, and each carved stroke will fill in, contrasting with the smooth body.
