Crafted By Jianyi Workshop

This stunning walnut tea board by Jianyi Workshop features deep channels for water to flow underneath teaware, leaving the gongfu set up dry and elegant. This is particularly well-suited to brewing with yixing teapots so that tea water doesn’t pool under the pot, allowing you to maintain an even and professional patina. The beautiful grain of the walnut is allowed to come through and bring a natural presence to gongfu ceremony, while metal accents adorn the border. Elegant calligraphy inscribes the sentiment that “Time flows like water,” perfected suited to the way tea ceremony flows. This board comes with a tube and pump for draining when used in traditional gongfu ceremony with full steepings poured over yixing teapots, or can be plugged and used as a stunning surface for modern gongfu to catch drips.

    TEA BOARD CARE & CLEANING

This Xiangfu Workshop tea board is a convertible gongfu tea board, and can be used either as a tea boat for modern gongfu style or – if used with the included draining tube – this board can be used as a traditional draining tea board.

Empty this board of all tea and leaves after use, and allow the board dry completely between sessions.

Do not leave wet overnight. Leaving boards wet for extended periods of time can cause a board to warp or crack, and standing water may become unhygienic.

If using as a tea boat, do not overfill the board or leave standing water on the tray for extended periods of time.

If using as a draining tea tray, make sure the water tube is firmly affixed to the draining spigot. Use a water-tight container to catch the water coming out of the tube. Use the tube on its own, or cut your tube just below the edge of your table, and insert the pump between the two cut ends of the tube. Squeeze the pump to encourage water to begin draining down the tube.

Hand wash with warm, soapy water and a gentle sponge.
