Gongfu tea is so much fun! Instead of one big mug, you get to taste the same tea as it transforms over lots of fast steepings, one little cup at a time. A tea can start off light and sweet, then grow into something big, creamy, rich and commanding, and finally after many infusions, linger with stunning aftertaste.
This set is all about rounding up the absolute essentials to experience tea gongfu-style. The Summer Garden Hand-Painted Brew Set includes a glass steeper and porcelain brew basket, plus three cups, all nestled in a travel case. This comes with Yunnan White Jasmine, Orchid-Scented Yellow Tea, and Qimen Osmanthus Black Tea. These scented teas are a great way to experience gongfu, with rich, creamy, tropical flavor notes- and make for great gifts that anyone can fall in love with and enjoy.
HOW TO MAKE
BASIC GONGFU TEA
Brewing gongfu tea is super easy and fun! Gongfu tea brewing packs lots of leaves into a small vessel, brewing the same leaves over and over in one long session.
To brew, portion out about 5g of tea and then add your tea the brewer insert. Place the brewer insert into the glass pitcher, and then pour just-boiled water over the loose leaf tea.
After about ten seconds, remove the brewing insert from the pitcher. Pour your tea from the pitcher into the small cups, and enjoy!
Remember, you can feel free to play with brewing time and temperature. Hotter water means your tea will take less time to infuse. Cooler water can give you more time and flexibility before the infusion becomes too strong.
After you finish your first infusion - keep going! Add a few seconds each time you brew your tea leaves, and enjoy the way your tea changes over your brewing session.
