The Wu family’s multi-generational white tea plantings have grown wild and untended for decades, allowing the specific balance of wildflowers and competing plants to influence the flavor and complexity of their tea. The Wu Family likes to keep their Bai Mudan picked on each several mu plot separate so that the elevation, angle of the sun and balance of rock and trees can come through in the finished tea. Plot 3 tastes quite wild, with crisp complex texture, an energizing feeling, and big vegetal undertones. Plot 3 Bai Mudan feels closer than most teas to the smell and taste of fresh unprocessed tea leaves in the sun. The wild vegetal notes are a lovely compliment to rose undertones and a big rocky mineral texture.

  • 'White tea is one of the easiest ways to discover the effect of buds in the taste of tea. Most teas on the market are made with leaves, which have amore robust intensity to them. Some teas are made entirely or partially from buds which have a very different flavor and texture to be aware of'
